Suzanne Somers passed away in October 2023 after a long battle with breast cancer. But in a bizarre twist that sounds like it came straight out of Black Mirror, she’s… back.
Thanks to artificial intelligence, Suzanne has been digitally resurrected.
Her husband, Alan Hamel, partnered with a company called Realbotix to create a “digital twin” of the late actress — an A.I.-powered replica that mimics her voice, speech patterns, and even her memories, all based on old recordings and footage.
This A.I. version of Suzanne can actually respond to questions. When asked to recall a memory of her and Alan, the robot mentioned a cooking segment gone wrong involving a blender — a very real and specific detail pulled from Suzanne’s past.
Alan claims this wasn’t some wild sci-fi stunt — it was Suzanne’s idea.
“I think she would smile a lot and be really happy about it,” he said. “She would endorse it.”
(Here’s video of this abomination.)
But wait — it gets even weirder.
Alan says he has a “long-range plan” to create an A.I. version of John Ritter, with the goal of producing “additional episodes” of Three’s Company. Yes — he wants to revive the show using digital clones of its original stars.
(We should note: Joyce DeWitt, who played Janet on Three’s Company, is still alive — she’s 75.)
Let’s be real… the current tech isn’t fooling anyone yet. The A.I. version of Suzanne isn’t exactly lifelike — more like a creepy, uncanny valley experiment. But the fact that this is even being attempted? That’s the wild part.
It’s official: we’ve entered the era where dead celebrities might not be done working.
